December 18, 2011 - You know what they say, "the best cure for a hangover is not to have one in the first place." So if you're feeling hungover right now, it's your fault for having stopped drinking.
Okay. So now's the fun part... remembering last night. You can do that by sharing pictures that we can post at the DetroitSantarchy.com website. It's our archive you can't run away from. And unlike facebook, there aren't any facial recognition programs that identify you to the world. It's just your drunken happy faces reflecting the good time we all had last night. December 17, 2011 - ATTENTION DEARBORN BUS PEOPLE !!! Cheli's wanted us to remind you that if you use their valet service for parking you do run the risk of having your keys locked up when they close at 2am.(might be a good thing??) I believe there's a buttload of parking at Ford Park nearby.
We've been adding alot of updates for this years Santarchy. All you NEW people whom we've added to our friends list please read through our "notes" section at our Facebook page, or just continue reading this page, so you know what the hell is goin' on.
Ok Santas. We're in the homestretch of what is shaping up to be the biggest Detroit Santarchy EVER. !! Given the size and scope of this rolling form of debauchery, its easy for shit to get outta hand.
We've done everything on our end to take care of the bus situation between bars so that there should be a bus at every bar every 5-7 minutes . We also kept the route alot more simple while still including 10 bars and shaving off several minutes of transit time.
This year we put our own people on each bus in an effort to keep the buses spaced as equal as possible. The bus route is a loop so do not pressure our helpers into taking you out of the route. (happened last year.) You will get to where you want to go. The whole route only takes 12-15 minutes. There will be more updates today but Santa has another North Pole Steamer he has to drop off in the Artic stat!!!

December 16, 2011 - Things are really amping up for this year's DETROIT SANTARCHY !! The bus seats on the buses that come from Ann Arbor/Ypsi, Dearborn, Livonia, Ferndale and Southgate are on a first come first serve basis and will leave on time so don't piss around. We doubled up the buses for Dearborn and Livonia this year based on last years crowd. The buses could still get very packed so don't get whiney... NOBODY likes a cranky whiney SANTA !! Thats what laps are for !! Have fun with it !! They ride like that in India all the time and seem ok with it ??
If you're riding one of these buses have a $20 bill ready to purchase your bus pass. Santa's helpers do not want to deal with your coin collection, Bridge Card, gold teeth, etc. This isn't Hardcore Pawn, IT'S SANTARCHY !!! Please do not underestimate your ability to drink this night. The most straight edged sober person can be magically transformed into a raging alcoholic that would make Charlie Sheen wince in horror. Pace yourself !!! Watch over each other and if you tread that fuzzy line, cab fare home or to a hotel could be the best money you spend this holiday season.
And fear not. Even if you do not ride a bus from a remote location, you can still go to Gaelic League and purchase a pass that will allow you to shuttle between the bars.
As usual, spread this info amongst your friends. If Santa gets one more request asking what day Santarchy is, what should I wear, how much is it? Where is it, what a "notes" section etc. Expect a 5 lb. North Pole Steamer in your stocking Christmas morning.

December 15, 2011 - Attention Santas!!! Its does not matter which bus you arrived on to the Gaelic League until it is time to go home. Once the buses leave the Gaelic League to spread out all the Santas and start the "loop" around 9pm, anyone with a bus pass can ride ANY of the 9 buses.
Each bus will be given a bus number and name from where it originally picked up Santas. (Ferndale #2 for instance) You only need to remember your bus name & number at the end of the night when your bus takes you back. For that reason, DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING on any of the buses at any time!! Every year the bus drivers find, cameras, jackets, underwear,weed whackers, football helmets etc... yeah ... we have some weird f#@kers in the bunch. So goes Detroit Santarchy !!! Please share this info with your fellow Santas and helpers. ~ Santa
December 14, 2011 - Detroit Santarchy update Dec. 14th 2011 10a.m. We're always trying to improve the mass transport of our nearly 1,000 slightly inebriated Santas.
This year when the buses take off from North Pole Ground Zero (The Gaelic League), each of the 9 buses will "spider out" to 9 different bars. Immediately after unloading, each bus will start in a continuous loop hitting every bar all night until about 1:30am. If you happen to be on a bus that doesn't go to the bar you want to go to initially, Just hang out until the buses start on their rotation.
This year we will have Santas helpers on each of the 9 buses selling passes so if you happen to start the night at a bar other than the Gaelic League you can still hop on the buses and hit all the bars. We will do our best to keep the buses spread out so this year so there should never be more than a 5-7 minute wait for a bus. So just hang loose and all the little crap that may transpire that night ... just let it go. Its a fun night !!! Save you're stressed out moments for your family time Dec. 25th. December 13, 2011 - Hey Santa's. Here's the latest bus "pickup"& "drop off" info . Although you may arrive on anyone of these buses,once you get to the Gaelic League you can hop on anyone of our 9 chartered buses to the 9-10 bars on this years list. We did eliminate some stops to keep things moving faster with less "in transit" time. The buses will start rolling to all the bars around 9pm-9:30 an...d will all hit different bars to spread the santas out. Once this is done we will start a loop with all the buses contiuously hitting all the bars. The bus route will run until 1:30am so make sure you're back at the Gaelic league by then if you are going back on one of the buses you arrived on. Please spread this info to any of the Santas you know. The cost again is $20 and can be purchased where you board the bus at one of our pickup locations or at the Gaelic League between 8pm and 1am.

December 05, 2011 - This is the Santarchy bus schedule and locations thus far: Ann Arbor 6:30pm, Cheli's Dearborn 7pm, The Emery-Ferndale (woodward and 9) 7pm, Livonia, K of C hall (Farmington Rd) 7pm. Do we need a Downriver bus location ??? Let us know. All buses meet at the Detroit Gaelic League then start running our route. More details will follow.
Some neccessary changes we're leaning towards are less bars so t..h..e..r..e will be more SANTAS together and less "in transit" time. We'll still have about 8-9 bars to terrorize. Also each bus will be staffed with one of our "santas helpers" to make sure the buses keep moving , keep spaced, and don't miss any stops which proved impossible last year when left up to the drivers to follow our map and directions.

November 04, 2011 - This is the first update of the 2011 season. This year, the Detroit Santarchy is on Saturday December 17th. Santa has not worked on any event planning yet because I'm still busy slapping elves around to make sure I have the toys ready. And remember boys and girls, this Saturday night is a great drinking weekend with the end of daylight savings time. Don't waste it!
